'Hortus,' derived from the Latin word for 'garden,' is more than just a lampshade; it becomes an intimate space for shared activities. Recent research highlights a trend of couples establishing homes and families together. However, after 3 years, intimacy in the relationship may gradually decline.
This innovative DIY design set offers fresh opportunities for users to nurture, engage, and revive their intimacy. The lampshade's wooden structure, free of glue, allows users to weave rattan-shaped fabric onto the frame, creating personalized lampshades. The kit includes flower and bird-shaped magnets and cards, enabling users to infuse sentiments and memories, and fostering shared experiences with their partners.
As users continually infuse memories and emotions into the lampshade, it transcends its role as mere illumination; 'Hortus' evolves into a 'Home Garden,' cultivating and preserving the intimate bond between two family members.
'Hortus’ is not only a lampshade but also an intimate space for activities.
The design created new opportunities for the users to create, involve, interact, and enhance their intimacy.
Through users constantly adding personal memories and appreciation for other family members on the lampshade, it is not just a lighting design, but also a ‘Home Garden’ for maintaining the intimate relationship between two family members.
